Well here it is, the first official Monday of the New Year! And although my bank account would beg to differ, I would much rather be back playing in New York! We had an absolute blast soaking up the amazing city. I will even venture to say that I prefer it to Paris! It's the perfect blend of European charm with a unique American twist.
We will definitely be heading back soon. We stayed away from the tourist route and checked out tons of places to eat and explore. My brother lives in Brooklyn and we ended up falling in love with it's more chill vibe than it's sister, Manhattan.
And I'm not going to lie, the bars in New York were very dark (and hard to take pictures) and unfortunately I was limited to the quality my camera phone was capable of, but hopefully you'll still have fun looking at our pictures.
Times Square & The Harry Potter Exhibit at The Discovery Museum
Bryant Park & Grand Central Station
A Doctor Who-themed bar & The New York Public Library
I'm hoping to do a post later this week featuring some of the amazing places we tried. But in the meantime, I've got to refocus on being a grown-up! We spent the weekend readjusting from our vacation and taking it easy with a movie night. We watched one of my favorite movies and a quote from the movie really struck me for the new year:
So here we go 2013, what possibilities are you open to this year?
Which reminds me! My (other) baby brother surprised his girlfriend over the break with a Proposal at Disneyworld!
- They will be getting married in Colorado this spring, so that's one more vacation we'll be looking forward to!
- We're also hoping to remodel our bathroom (so I'm sure I will keep you updated on that as well)
- Complete The Color Run (fellow Houstonians, who's in!?)
- Take Surf Lessons (Possibly Yoga Surf Lessons, if I can find a class!)
- Take the pups on more adventures by hiking some Texas Trails
Sounds like we have quite the year in store!
P.S.
Have you heard of Birdy? Check out her amazing cover of Phoenix's 1901
Happy Monday!
